You have written an excellent summary of how we (most of governance and mainstream society) are broadly ignorant and willfully dismissive of the perils of the climate disaster that has been cooked up by predatory capitalism and our massive use of fossil fuels to power the lifestyle. The passage to a more sustainable way of living will be difficult, and perhaps even impossible to complete. Broadly speaking, the human population at a minimum will be dramatically reduced during the currently accelerating climate shift. Once the humane race is significantly smaller in number (a billion or less globally) there may be an opportunity to reboot. Unfortunately, even if we are able to reboot in a world that has a difficult climatology we will also have to navigate the disasters of radioactive wastelands that will be left because of the wars we will unleash on each other and the inevitable infrastructure failures that follow.
