There are some well informed, intellectually curious, and environmentally aware people across the world. They try to raise alarms and inform the remaining vast majority of us humans about the destruction our economic and political organizing systems are inflicting on our home—the Earth. Some of us listen and try to change. Many of us just want to get on with our lives and not be bothered. Still others actively and viciously attack the messengers in attempts to cast doubt on the warnings. Such actions define what we are as a human species. Only nature will sort us out and nothing else. We are not designed biologically, emotionally, or psychologically to make an abrupt change to our embedded economies and societal structures. The apocalypse will arrive, wash us, pound us on the rocks, and then hang us out to dry. Some with new bodies and minds will carry on to human 2.0.
