The western world of today carries Rome with it. And then we have our own inventions and added knowledge stirred in the mix. I’m of the view that our past greatly shapes our future.

In America the past mistakes of our founders who embraced chattel slavery and produced a federal constitution that both promoted freedom and preserved the power of slave states still eats away at true democracy.

The mindset of robber-baron capitalism and environmental disregard of the industrialists set us on course with pollution and global warming so that we now have an environmental crisis defined as a Hot House Earth trajectory that has become our existential moment defining a future history of severe disruption.
