Thank you, Mike, for this article. It’s very thought provoking for me, and I appreciate having the reading references. I like to think that a radical change in our philosophy of living and how we understand change in the world around us is our path to survival. But change is difficult. Plus, history suggests that radical change comes about as a result of widespread tumult, death, and hardship. It’s a “Come to Jesus” moment when difficult change is forced by circumstances. I don’t know what the Buddhist equivalent would be, but nevertheless we have some hard times coming for our common reality.
