Thank you for this update on the “burning forests” and the unfolding pathway of ecological turnover. The certainty of direction seems indisputable even if the year-to-year fluctuations of rain and fire make the trendline stutter.

Then there is the timeline uncertainty about how the eco-turnover impinges on social stability. Where in the coming years (or decades) is the breaking point for political, financial, and community cohesion that relies on endless growth capitalism and the fragile complexity of heavily interconnected technology and transport systems?

Also, we cannot rule out a scenario of widespread conflict spreading across nation states that could result in nuclear war—thereby setting of a nuclear winter.

We have entered a very unstable time for our bio-systems and human societies.
