Thank you for a very thoughtful and (I believe) accurate analysis of our terrible situation in this time of climate emergency. You mention “hyperobjects” which I understand is a name for the complexity of a system we are reliant upon in our modern lives but that has inner workings and connections of complexity we are unable to fully understand or appreciate. It’s my belief that we humans have concocted a global “hyper-artificiality of life” for ourselves (through the overuse of fossil fuels) that is fatally disconnected from the underlying intelligence and biological construct of our planet. We are unable to grasp how we are driving a “hyper-artificially of destruction” through the foundational “hyper-biological makeup” of Earth. We will die off as a species if we cannot quickly turn off our jackhammer of fossil-fuel existence by finding a life-saving pathway into an intelligent use of complex biological structures and feedback loops that allow for energy balance and sustainable life.
