One step at the time. There is no way on God’s Green Earth that a US political candidate in 2024 can win office on a platform that promises wholesale restructuring of global economics away from continuous growth capitalism, end of fossil fuel use, population shrinkage (or decimation), and small energy adoption to restrain human ambition to advance comfort to dizzying levels. Nature will force humans to live with less or die. We need political leaders now who are mentally stable enough to navigate nations through civilizational decline over the next 10 years and beyond instead of fighting against reality as Nature aggressively reasserts its own narrative for life on future Earth.
