Mike, you have an effective way of writing. I don’t disagree with with your analysis in any significant degree. You pose a question of change and can we achieve a more equitable society. I think the answer is “no” because life systems on earth are in a process of radical realignment. The power structures of the super wealthy might be hopeful about riding out our climate emergency, but the disaster will be so profound that human life (or what’s left of it) will be reduced to harsh survival. We can’t know what an equitable society will look like as humans face extinction.
