I understand your argument and the frustration you are expressing about how humans organize governance—and the failures of governance. We want free will but then we also want control. It’s a conundrum of our species. It seems to me that we have reached over population in relation to the limits of planetary support we can exploit for our comfort. I believe we are at the point where natural laws will reduce the human overpopulation through brutal means. Whatever remaining civilization exits beyond nature’s remodeling of our habitat will be the inheritors of our remembered history. Maybe we will do better next time in figuring out our proper relationship within the biodiversity of our home world.
