I think you are correct. I would not survive a trip to India. Travel anywhere outside of familiarity would be difficult for me. It’s best that I stay rooted to the soil I was raised in. Trying to transplant into different climes is a dangerous adventure. But I do appreciate the many different cultures of the world when they arrive in some fashion inside of my life bubble. As for America ruling the world I do hope that is a concept that is losing power. The pursuit of the “ forever growth” of consumer capitalism that defines America is a death run for the planet. And most Americans deep down are isolationists who really are not interested in foreign entanglements. Of course there are exceptions to every rule and I’m certain enough obnoxious Americans still travel around the world to cause disgust in the local populations. But, all of that sort of indulgence will soon be cut short by the many unfolding catastrophes that are occurring now and will be occurring at an accelerating pace for the next 5 to 10 years. Old cultures and upstart powers will be compressed to even status in the transition from climate stability to the climate uncertainty of a hot Earth. Sad reflection is our unfolding story.
