If my understanding of our climate emergency is somewhat rational and informed by current science the times we are facing will be unique to all of human history.

We are and will be living in a time of accelerating climate disasters that will continue to disrupt normalcy, certainty, and future planning. Life will become ever more scattered, hectic, terrifying, and brutal. Very few human communities will survive. It will take thousands of years for climate stability to reassert itself. Stability is needed for any population to flourish.

We can reach out for community now to live as best as we can. But we will really just be looking for ways to die with the least pain and horror possible in a world that is falling apart.
