I don’t agree with all of your assertions about our human past, but I do agree that the destructive events of our current climate emergency have begun (the Event). Certainly we are going to reach and then surpass 1.5C of global warming sometime around 2030 because we are a civilization built on hydrocarbon consumption and continuing growth. Very soon the children of today will be caught up in a human civilization that falls into chaos. And yet we want to think about a business deal or a new company that’s projecting excellent growth to 2030 and bringing new jobs. We trumpet new projects breaking ground that will take 5 or 6 years to be completed. Or we look at electric car sales for 2035. In the USA we think about Presidential elections in 2024 and 2028 and 2032. Big changes will be happening politically, economically, and psychologically during this fragile time of increasing doom and fear. Like you say, we will be living in unprecedented times for human experience (and survival).
