Good work Tessa. Your story highlights how a highly complex society that depends for its existence on intertwined technologies can quickly fail once the likes of reliable electrical energy, educational networks, and social support are lost. One other accelerant that can speed up such decline is widespread war. China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran loom as change agents along with melting glaciers and the relentless rise of CO2 plus methane in the global atmosphere.
