Excellent summary of “how science works” using the example of Palio-archeology. I’ve read your earlier articles related to our current emergency of global heating where you argue that the “mainstream” models that project the timeline of our planet warming by 2C to 4C of global mean temperature are outdated. I think you are correct with your assessment. Although it is less of a disaster for archeology to be slow in understanding accurate data interpretation than it is for climate data to be misunderstood and minimized. The difficulty of human nature in acting swiftly in the light of changing data will certainly hold us back in dangerous ways as the planet heats up rapidly year-after -year going forward toward 2030, 2040, and so on.
