Excellent essay Mike. Your observation that LLM AI seems human therefore a user is able to accept the tech as a human advisor (worthy of love) seems true to me.

Of course LLM is a product that is completely developed by humans and that is reliant on a human-made and maintained infrastructure to “become” part of our mental existence.

LLM “lives” in an artificial “biosphere” and once humans significantly degrade the natural biosphere to the point that the hyper-complexity we’ve created can no longer exist on a post dense energy world then the likes of LLM will be irrelevant to survival. Our brains will need to be wholly contained within our skulls and not be off-loaded to interconnected server farms requiring immense energy and human minders to exist.
