All the analysis of autocracy and losing democracy in America is based on a presumed history and political workings that take place in a worldwide biosphere that is favorable to human activities. That history is dead.

Life, politics, business, finance, societal organization, and human expectations are in an accelerating phase of reluctant makeover.

Sustaining democracy is going to be difficult and perhaps impossible as the global climate moves into hot house mode.

Just as one example of change where Republican Trumpism is entrenched, think about Arizona, Texas, and Florida. Those states are rapidly trending into an unlivable climate phase. California on the Democratic side of politics is also being climatically squeezed in ways that impact livability. If 2023 has hosted our “first extinction summer” then what will 2024 be like during a presidential election year, then 2025, 2026, etc?

The chances of social chaos are exploding as climate reset gains traction. A clown dictator government run under Trump authoritarianism won’t stand out much as the world is coping with dramatic climatological events.
