A Short Poem About Time

Ed Cockrell
1 min readNov 26, 2020

Medium offers me a new way to publish poems that I have written. This month I was thinking about time, relationships, black holes and the central role that consciousness plays in making the universe what it is and will forever be. Consciousness is experienced as time passing. I hope the time you spend reading my little poem is time well spent.

Event Horizon

Shadows thrown from consciousness
Scatter into the universe
Birthed by existence
Torn by ruin
Becoming
A gravity of elegies
Made of memory and projection
of time forward
of time reversed
Emotion and departure
slicing the edge into slow motion
bleeding together in rage and love
Where all time belongs to the cut
